Current Budget:
The budget for each fiscal year, which runs January 1 through December 31, represents months of careful review of revenues and expenditures, departmental meetings, and prioritization of services as directed by the department directors and the city administrator.
Annual Reports
The financial statements included in this report are prepared in compliance with governmental financial reporting standards issued by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board, guidelines issued by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada, and generally accepted accounting principles applicable to governmental entities. State of Georgia statutes require an annual audit by an independent Certified Public Accountant.

City Millage Rate
The City of Dacula’s millage rate for 2020 is 4.806 mills. The millage rate is the rate at which property is taxed. One mill equals $1 tax per $1,000 of assessed property value. Taxing authorities, such as the county school board, county government, state government, and municipal government, levy a tax on the assessed property value. Taxes are assessed in Georgia based on 40 percent of the real property value, which is determined by the county tax assessor.
