Maple Creek Park Playground nearing completion
The redesigned playground at Maple Creek Park is expected to be open by Thanksgiving, including all new equipment and some exciting new features.
Construction began in July 2023 on the $821,000 project, which is financed by an endowment fund created by former Dacula Mayor Jimmy Wilbanks. The improvements were needed to improve accessibility, update the equipment, and serve additional age groups.
Here are some features that Dacula residents will enjoy at the new playground:
- Separate toddler play area
- Adult physical fitness equipment
- ADA accessible
- Specialized playground turf

Located at 425 McMillan Road in Dacula, Maple Creek Park also has a popular 9-hole disc golf course, half-mile walking trail, and pavilion. The city also operates Olde Mill Park in downtown Dacula, featuring a Veterans Memorial and picturesque gazebo. There are two Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation parks in the city: Dacula Park and Rabbit Hill Park.
