Dacula’s 2019 Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee Meetings Underway

The Steering Committee meetings for Dacula’s Comprehensive Plan for 2019 are underway. Robert & Company’s John Ford and Ann Coppage are facilitators for the Comprehensive Plan which is required by Georgia’s Department of Community Affairs by February 2019.

The first meeting was held at City Hall on June 19, 2018. The meeting included elected officials, city staff, county staff,  member of the public and others:

  • Betty Hale, Phyllis Lamme, Ellis Lamme, Dana Pharr, Derek Spain
  • Carole Boyce, Chuck Efstration
  • Vince Edwards, Britton Lockhart

The major planning tasks and planning activities were presented by Mr. Ford. A listing of Dacula Strengths, Dacula Weaknessess, Dacula Opportunitiess, and Dacula Threats were discussed.


The schedule of future steering committee meetings is as follows:

  •  Existing Conditions Assessments July 17, 2018
  • Needs and Goals  August 21, 2018
  • Future Land Use Plan  September 18, 2018
  • Community Work Program  October 16, 2018
  • Public Open House  November 20, 2018
  • City Council Adoption of Plan  TBD
